If you’re looking for a high-end hair care brand, Kerastase and Oribe are both great options. But what is the difference between these two brands?

At Utiee - beauty store we collaborate with Kerastase and Oribe and we have tried them ourselves. We would like to share with you our experience and knowledge about these two luxury brands.

Kerastase is known for its keratin-rich formulas, which help to strengthen hair. The brand has a lot of ranges of products designed specifically for different hair types. Kerastase products can be used daily, but they are not really designed for that.

Oribe, on the other hand, is perfect for daily use. The products are designed to add moisture to hair without making it greasy or weighed down.

So, which brand is right for you? If you are looking for a luxurious treat, Kerastase is a great option. But if you need an everyday hair care solution, Oribe is your best bet. So, which brand is right for you? Ultimately, the decision comes down to your personal preference.

Shampoos

Let's start with the composition. Oribe shampoos are completely sulfate-free. Kerastase shampoos contain milder Sodium Laureth, which is less aggressive than Sodium Laureth Sulfate, but it is still a sulfate. So if you would like to have a completely sulfate-free shampoo go for Oribe. On the other hand, Kerastase has on average around 30 to 40 ingredients and Oribe has literally 100 ingredients! We are not kidding. It is a significant difference. The more ingredients a product has, the more likely it is to cause you an intolerance to at least one of them. Our advice is to use simple products with fewer ingredients and Kerastase definitely wins here! However, due to its simple formula, Kerastese’s shampoos are more effective, but if you want to enjoy luxury in its fullness followed by incredible flower aroma, we recommend giving Oribe a try.

Conditioners

Both Kerastase and Oribe have a big range of conditioners, and they have a similar composition. The main ingredients are pro-keratin, protein blends, or bonding molecules that repair and strengths hair. These ingredients are good for those who want to prevent hair breakage, but if your hair is protein sensitive these products are not good for you. It could lead to hair loss. How to pick the right conditioner? It is better to use conditioners from the same range as shampoo. If you like Brilliance & Shine Shampoo then use the same conditioner.

Price

Kerastase and Oribe are both pretty expensive brands and cost about the same. So if you are looking to purchase products from one of these brands be ready to spend about $50.The best Kerastase collections: Resistance - is ideal for very damaged hair, Blond Absolu - for bleached and highlighted hair, Reflection - is food for colored hair. The best Oribe collections: Serene Scalp Range - perfect for those who struggle with dandruff, Signature - is created for you to enjoy luxury, Moisture & Control Range - for dry hair.

Both Kerastase and Oribe are luxurious hair care brands with excellent products. However, Kerastase is better suited for those looking for strengthening treatments, while Oribe’s everyday products are ideal for all hair types. So, the choice between these two brands ultimately comes down to what you’re looking for in a hair care product.
