There are so many hair care brands on the market these days. Which one to choose? How to find the right products for my hair type? When it comes to luxury hair care we want to make sure the products we are purchasing will make a difference to our hair condition. Today we are going to take a look at two natural, high-quality brands Aveda and Olaplex.

Aveda

Aveda is known as a fully organic brand. The brand guarantees the natural origin of all the ingredients. Its formula is 100% vegan. Aveda brand is marked with a certificate confirming the organic nature of all products.

Aveda product’s formula is free of parabens, parabens, phthalates, and sulfates. The brand makes an effort to respect ecological and cultural diversity in the selection of ingredients for production.

The company supports social initiatives to improve the environment: it does not test products on animals, supports local farming, uses only recycled materials for its packaging, and is also the first beauty company to use only wind energy in its production.

Olaplex

We all know Olaplex as a brand with a unique patented formula based on one active ingredient Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate molecule. This molecule actively repairs broken hair bonds. It regenerates every single strand of the hair and finds bonds that have been damaged in the bleaching process or after heat exposure and re-connects them ionically and covalently.

Olaplex products contain no oils, sulfates, silicone, and other harmful substances that could negatively affect the hair.

Main Olaplex treatment is for salon use but the brand has created some quality products for home use.

Aveda vs. Olaplex

There is a couple of things to note about these two brands. In the ingredient, it's clear that Aveda has steered clear of animal-derived or synthetic ingredients. Where Olaplex hair treatment uses synthetic ingredients, the Aveda ingredient list is totally plant-based.

Aveda has much more products than Olaplex. In total there are only 10 Olaplex products, while Aveda has around 20 collections for different hair types and purposes.

Aveda’s most popular collections are Nutriplenish - which provides deep hydration for dry and damaged hair, Be Curly - a lightweight line for owners of curly hair and Blond Revival for blonds.

We can divide Olaplex products into two groups: salon use and home use. No. 1 and No. 2 are for professional use only. These products are used by hairdressers to protect hair in the process of bleaching.

Which one is better Aveda or Olaplex?

Both brands produce natural, luxury, and high-quality products. Each one of them has its own strengths. If you are looking for products that will protect your hair during the bleaching process definitely go for Olaplex. If you are looking for everyday products with completely natural formula then the answer is Aveda! Depends on your goals and what you want to achieve in your hair care routine.
