We think everyone has heard about Olaplex and Kerastase. These two professional hair care brands gained popularity all around the world. Why are they so popular? Which brand is better for my hair type? Is it worth that much money at all?

At Utiee we care for our customers, so we did some research and compared these two luxury hair care brands. In this article we are going to speak about the advantages and disadvantages of Olaplex and Kerastase.

Olaplex

What makes Olaplex different from every other hair care treatment is its formula. The main component of the composition is the Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate molecule. This molecule actively repairs broken hair bonds. It regenerates every single strand of the hair and finds bonds that have been damaged in the bleaching process or after heat exposure and re-connects them ionically and covalently. Olaplex products contain no oils, sulfates, silicone, and other harmful substances that could negatively affect the hair.

Olaplex was mainly created to protect the hair in the bleaching process. Main Olaplex treatment is for salon use. Bleaching is harmful for the hair structure, in order to bleach the hair you need almost to kill it. Hairdressers mix N°1 with color to decrease hair damage and apply N°2 after dyeing to strengthen the hair. There are quite a few Olaplex products for home use, but the main treatment is for salon use.

Olaplex works the best when you use it in combinations:

N°1 + N°2 - in the salon during the bleaching process.

N°0 + N°3 - the best solution to restore the damaged hair at home.

N°4 + N°5 - shampoo and conditioner. Perfect for maintaining a beautiful color and healthy look in between your salon visits.

N°6 + N°7 - are created to be used before and after styling to protect and straighten the hair.

Kerastase

Products of this French brand are top in the hair care field and belong to the luxury class. Each Kerastase’s line includes several products that work in combination to solve specific hair and scalp problems. It is committed to the reasonable utilization of materials, the decrease of water squander, and bringing down its carbon footprint. Its factories are leading in environmental initiatives for reducing and reusing waste and saving water.

Kerastase products are made of natural ingredients with flower extract, full of vitamins and minerals. Gluten, sulfate, and cruelty-free.

Kerastase has a big variety of products for different hair types:
